William asks…Children's writing - word count?I know this could be a 'how long is a piece of string' question, but does anyone know how long children's fiction books for readers of 8 - 14 ish should be?
I know that different books are different (e.g. Pullman, Rowling and so on) and that different publishers probably have different expectations, but does anyone have a rough idea or access to any general guidance?
